Mary Ramsey is a choreographer and movement director specializing in water and underwater performance for film, television, fashion, and live events. A former competitive collegiate artistic swimmer, she brings a deep technical foundation in aquatic movement to her work across choreography, performance direction, and celebrity coaching.

Her choreography has appeared in projects for Beyoncé, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, and the Coen Brothers’ Hail, Caesar!, as well as for artists including Lizzo, Ariana Grande, and the Foo Fighters. She was featured on The Drew Barrymore Show, where she coached Drew Barrymore in water-based performance. Her work extends to campaigns for Hermès, H&M, Disney, and Adidas, and she provides movement direction and coaching for performers including Scarlett Johansson, Drew Barrymore, and Paloma Elsesser.

As Co-Director of Aqualillies and its male counterpart Aquawillies, Mary casts and collaborates with elite water performers across the U.S. and internationally. She has also been featured in documentaries and publications on the evolution of artistic swimming, including Esther Williams: La Sirène d’Hollywood (Arte France) and Swimming Pretty – The Untold Story of Women in Water. She is an underwater performer, body double, and movement coach for film, television, and commercial projects.

Mary is also a photographer whose work explores theatricality, the female gaze, and the geometry between bodies and space.  She holds a J.D. from the University of Southern California and a B.A. in Art History from the College of William & Mary, where she curated exhibitions at the Muscarelle Museum of Art.
